What you wear matters. I'm not saying run out and buy everyone a new wardrobe (although I'm always looking for a good excuse to go shopping!).... but definitely invest some time poking around the web, looking in those closets and laying out a few options. Here are just a few of my personal tips!
Tip #1- Avoid wearing a combination of just black and white. This tends to wash you out and often looks to "matchy-matchy." Choose around two to three colors (such as mustard, cream & gray) and weave them throughout your outfits. Look around your house... what would suit your decor/style?
Tip #2- Not everyone has to wear solids. Don't be afraid to throw some patterns in there. It is totally okay for some plaids and stripes and maybe even a polka dot or two to be thrown in! But do avoid logos.
Tip #3- Layering is great! It adds texture to your images and also allows you to throw in that splash of color.
And last tip #4- Pay attention to the little details.... bring along a cute hat or a cozy blanket that matches! Suspenders, bows in the hair, scarves.... little touches like this always look great.

Date: We will begin by choosing a date that works for the both of us and then discuss location.
Location: I have dozens of local locations to choose from as well as some mountain locations if you’re up for an adventure. Time of year matters when choosing a location. Some of my locations are prettier in the fall, some simply more amazing in the early and late summer months. I chase those locations where the flowers grow or the locations that have some serious fall colors.
Time: Time of day matters as well! If it’s a sunny day I simply won’t shoot during those mid day hours. I cannot stress enough the importance of GOOD light. I work around the sun, striving for that golden light always. Worried about rain? I work around that too. Typically I ask that you keep the day of the shoot WIDE open for two reasons 1) weather and 2) you really want to keep your day as stress free and chill as possible.
